Nice article, I Autocross my car and have been thinking about upgrading to some firmer bushings as it is relatively cheap to do and I really enjoy doing things like that to my car. I will probably go with the urethane and if I do not like then i can always go back to the OE

The suspension system of a car is really complicated in a sense that it has effects on different parts of the car. Professional advise or help is really needed when you get to work on it.

@ Drop Suspension - since you're posting from a business and trying to direct traffic to that business, why don't you take a few minutes and advise us on making the M3 handle better? You must be an expert right?

Thank you much for this write up. I now have reached 140k miles on my E46 M3 odometer, and am getting all new bushings, springs, and shocks for my baby. Surprisingly, none of these items actually need to be replaced, and its all the original equipment. I baby my car and have my mechanic check on my car on a monthly basis. But I thought now would be a good time to do it while its on the downwards slope.

With that being said, I have looked into getting the Powerflex urethane bushings all around, but couldn't make up my mind if I really want them or just OEM. This write up of your has given me some great insight as to how my car would feel with the Powerflex urethane bushings in it, and it makes me a little uneasy. I understand that it would give me better performance, but I don't track my car, and don't plan to. I am a weekend spirited driver, and use my E46 M3 daily for travel to and from work. It would seem to be uncomfortable, like you mentioned, to drive it daily on the street, so I'm going to just replace my bushings with the OEM rubber ones. If they can last me 140k originally, I don't see why they couldn't last another 140k :)

Thank you for this write up Drew. Its much appreciated!
